When a foreign leader arrives with his precocious daughter Alex (Francesca Capaldi), tensions arise between both countries. First Son TJ (Zane Austin), along with Max and Alex, uncover a dangerous plot that puts both kids and both nations in jeopardy. A highly-sensitive mission will push Max’s specialized skills, intelligence and loyalty to the test.

Captive Movie Review & Giveaway!

About the movie:

Based on a miraculous story about the power of faith, Captive is an "amazing, inspiring" drama about the spiritual collision of two lost souls, Brian Nichols (Golden Globe Nominee David Oyelowo), on the run from police and desperate to make contact with his newborn son, takes recently widowed mother Ashley Smith (Kata Mara) hostage in her own apartment.  Fearing for her life and desperately hoping to see her daughter again, she turns to Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life for guidance.  Ashley and her captor face a crossroads where they discover hope and light in the midst of despair in the moving film that Dick Rolfe, CEO, Dove Foundation hailed as "powerful."

Rating: PG-13 (for mature thematic elements involving violence and substance abuse)

Based on a true story about Ashley Smith it takes you on journey on how Brian Nichols runs from police and Smith who upon returning home is forced in and gets held captive in her apartment. She is overcoming being an addict, trying to regain custody of her daughter and had also lost her husband. She turns to reading The Purpose Driven Life and reads it aloud to him. She encouraged him to consider how God could use him if he surrendered.
This was the first movie I have seen with David Oyelowo. He is a great actor! Kate Mara who plays Smith, I have seen her in a few things like House Of Cards. Both actors are very strong and powerful in their roles. Overall its a family friendly drama with  a powerful message. Excellent movie to watch! Since such events Ashley Smith has gone on to write a book Unlikely Angel , marry, recover from her drug use and travels the country and speaks to other on her transformation!
